Manager of Community Services – Contract

We are currently recruiting a Manager of Community Services. The successful applicant will manage Personal Support Workers, Homemakers, and other assigned workers in our community programs and will be responsible for sharing general management responsibilities with the management team, including but not limited to health and safety, training, and rotating on-call weekends.

Job Title: Manager of Community Services

Job Type: Full-Time, 1-Year Contract

Location: Orillia

Salary: 46K-48K/Year

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, rotating on-call responsibilities outside of regular hours and on statutory holidays.

Duties/Responsibilities

The Manager of Community Programs is responsible for supervising services and activities of Helping Hands community programs. The position is responsible for supervising staff, including personal support workers, homemakers and volunteers performing these duties, performing management duties, conducting performance reviews, coordinating professional development, etc. Regular local travel and driving in the community is required for this role. Other duties include, but are not limited to, report writing, administrative duties, budgeting, policy development, Quality Improvement practices, and development and monitoring of key performance indicators, etc.

Qualifications

 
  1. Diploma or degree in Healthcare/Human/Community Services or equivalent
  2. Current CPR and Standard First Aid Certifications required or ability to acquire
  3. Class G Drivers License and Reliable Vehicle
  4. 5 years supervisory experience or demonstrated ability to lead staff
  5. Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
  6. Must have the ability to plan, organize, develop, implement and interpret the existing and new programs, goals, objectives, policies, procedures, etc.
  7. Ability to work well under pressure
  8. High level of integrity, confidentiality, and accountability
  9. Maintained computer proficiency, with knowledge of scheduling software systems. Learn and maintain knowledge of AlayaCare , HRIS systems (Quadrant), and Microsoft Office Solutions
  10. A strong understanding of the Employment Standards Act, Workplace Safety and Insurance Act, applicable privacy legislation, Patients First Act, and other related Acts, Bills and regulations
  11. Firm understanding of all industry related external requirements, policies and agreements
  12. Indigenous Cultural Safety Training recommended
  13. Proficiency in French Language is an asset
