We are currently recruiting for a part-time, permanent Transportation Service Worker, with the possibility of increasing to full-time. A variety of shifts may be required including days, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

We a currently recruiting for the following positions:

Job Title: Personal Support Worker.  Two openings are available.  This is a unionized position.

Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time

Location: Orillia and Area Transitional Bed Locations.  This will require working in more than one location.

Shift:  There are opportunities for both a day shift and a night shift,  however a variety of shifts may be required including days, evenings, nights, holidays, and weekends. The shifts are 12 hours in length.

Compensation: Starting wage $16.91 per hour.

In response to the COVID 19 pandemic, we also offer the government provided temporary $3/hr wage increase. This temporary increase will remain in effect contingent on funding by the provincial government.

Summary:

The Attendant Care/Personal Support Worker (PSW) will work cooperatively and professionally with other healthcare providers, other agency staff, and Helping Hands staff to provide personal support services to clients, as directed by the organization.  Attendant Care/Personal support services include but are not limited to bathing, dressing, and grooming clients, emptying bedpans, and toiletry duties. Other responsibilities will include preparing meals, serving meal trays, and providing assistance in feeding clients, making beds, and housekeeping clients’ living spaces or areas.  Housekeeping services include but are not limited to, dusting, vacuuming and mopping, limited pet care, laundry, bathroom cleaning, and disinfection duties.

The ACW/PSW will also assist clients in their daily activities, physical exercise, and will move clients in wheelchairs or other mobility aids.  The ACW/PSW will ensure all administrative functions are conducted in a timely and efficient manner, meeting all organizational requirements concerning deadlines and policies/procedures, including submitting accurate timesheets, assessments, incident reports, and other documentation.  They will report any issues, concerns, and activities to their supervisor in a timely fashion and to support the department in any way needed to meet client needs.

  • Orillia and Surrounding Area.  This position will require travel from one client’s home to another.
  • Muskoka Region.  This position will require travel from one client’s home to another.  Many clients live in rural locations.

Client Care Scheduler/Dispatcher

The Client Care Scheduler/Dispatcher (Scheduler) is responsible for scheduling the services and activities of Helping Hands. The position will schedule day-to-day staff, taking into account the Employment Standard Act, health and safety, and client care needs. The Scheduler must ensure that all scheduling and administrative functions are conducted in a timely and efficient manner, meeting all organizational requirements with respect to deadlines and policies/procedures.  This is considered to be a support position to the Manager of Administration and Transportation reporting directly to the Manager of Administration and Transportation.  Therefore, this position is required to report any issues, concerns and activities to their supervisor in a timely fashion and to support the department in any way needed to meet client needs.

Hours:

This is a full time 37.5 hour per week position. Must be available to work a variety of hours including days, afternoons, evenings, weekends and holidays.

Environment:

  • Office environment
  • Majority sitting on computer and making/responding to phone calls for both staff and clients

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, flexibility required, on-call hours and responsibilities for weekends shared with other managers.

Position:                                   Client Intake Planner   (Summer Employment)

Employment Period:                8 week period between June 14 and Aug. 27th  2021

Position Description:

The Client Intake Planner role is responsible for the intake and assessment of all Helping Hands clients, including financial assessments.  This position will also support various other functions in the department and organization and, on occasion. Provide a back-up function to other roles in various departments of Helping Hands (including Transportation and Client Care Scheduling).  The position will focus primarily on performing initial assessments and assisting clients in accessing appropriate resources to meet their care needs, both internally and externally.  This role will adhere to organizational policies and procedures, health and safety initiatives, and client needs.

The Finance Clerk performs general finance/accounting, audit, payroll, AR, AP and bookkeeping support functions in support of the Director of Finance.

This position maintains the day to day functions of the department, prepares reports for and provides assistance to the Director to fulfill analysis of operations and maintains the systems associated with the collection and reporting of information to support organizational decision making and fulfill reporting obligations to stakeholders. Duties are performed as assigned working with other clerks or members of the finance team.

Pay Range: $16.96-$19.78/hr
